Piept de pui cu sos de portocale – Chicken breast with orange sauce

Ingrediente pentru 4 persoane:

  • 2 jumatati piept de pui dezosat si fara piele, taiate pe lungime;
  • 3-4 catei intregi de usturoi, necuratati de coaja, spalati bine, zdrobiti usor;
  • Sucul a 2-3 portocale, in functie de marime (circa o cana de 250ml de suc);
  • O lingura de miere;
  • Putin ulei pentru prajit;
  • Sare, piper (de preferinta alb).

Intr-o tigaie se incinge putin ulei vegetal. Se pun cateii de usturoi intregi, zdrobiti un pic cu latul unui cutit, se lasa un pic sa aromatizeze uleiul, dupa care se scot si se adauga carnea. Se lasa sa se rumeneasca putin pe ambele parti, dupa care se sareaza, se pipereaza si se pune o cana de apa fierbinte. Lasati sa fiarba acoperit, la foc mic, in jur de 20 minute. Verificati daca mai are nevoie de apa fierbinte, adaugati la nevoie. Intre timp, amestecati mierea in sucul de portocale cat mai bine ca sa se dizolve. Dupa ce s-au scurs cele 20 de minute, adaugati si acest amestec peste carne si lasati inca 5 minute. Opriti focul, mai asesonati daca este necesar. Serviti cu piure de cartofi sau orez cu unt. Recomand la acest preparat salata de sfecla rosie, este o combinatie deosebit de gustoasa. Pofta buna!

Ingredients for 4:

  • 2 halves of boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut lengthwise;
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, unpeeled, well washed, slightly crushed;
  • Juice from 2-3 oranges, depending on size (should result in a cup of juice);
  • 1 tablespoon honey;
  • Some oil for frying;
  • Salt, pepper ( especially white pepper if you have any).

Heat a little vegetable oil in a pan. Add the garlic cloves, crushed a bit with the side of a knife, let them in for a short while to flavour the oil, then remove them, adding the chicken breast instead. Let them brown just a bit on both sides, get a pinch of salt and pepper on, then add a cup of hot water. Let it simmer, low heat, lid on, around 20 minutes. Check if any more hot water is needed, add some if necessary. Meanwhile, mix honey in the orange juice very well. After the 20 minutes, add this mixture in the pan, leaving it to simmer another 5 minutes. Stop the heat, season more if necessary. Serve with mashed potatoes or butter rice. I strongly advise to serve this dish with a beetroot salad, it goes very well with it. Enjoy!
