Boema – Bohemian – George Bacovia

O poezie superba a lui George Bacovia, am dorit sa o traduc pentru ca sa se bucure de lectura ei cat mai multi oameni.

A superb poem from George Bacovia, I wanted to translate it in English so that more people could enjoy reading it.

Boemă

Se aşeza să ningă –
Ningea.
Doream,
Sunt ani de-atunci,
Să te-ntâlnesc
La sfârşit de stradă
Ce dă în câmp.
Îmi părea
Că tu eşti mai frumoasă
Iarna.

Doar corbii spuneau
Că stai acasă
Cu vreun prieten.
Reintram în târg.
Zăpada licărea
Electric
Pe fereastra ta.
Se ducea o noapte.
Citeam
Ca în nopţi de iarnă.

starry winter night

Bohemian

It was set to snow-

It was snowing.

I wanted,

It’s years since then,

To meet you

At a street’s end

Near the fields.

It seemed

You were more beautiful

In winter.

Only the ravens said

You were at home

With some friend.

I went back into town.

The snow was shimmering

Electrically

On your window.

A night was passing by.

I was reading

Like in the winter nights.
